Can Media Codec, Zlob Trojan, Or Trusted Antivirus Attach Themselves To E-mails?

Posted on 18th October 2009

My family computer recently got three viruses. We did a system restore and got rid of them, but my Mom sent an e-mail to somebody during the time we had the viruses and she’s worried she might send the viruses to somebody. Have the viruses Media Codec, Zlob Trojan, or Trusted anti-virus ever been known to attach themselves to emails and infect other computers?

IF you did a system restore the files as probably still on your computer in a hidden _restore folder.
    1. Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ) .Then update your windows through firefox
Browser attacks aren’t easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn’t exhibit many obvious warning signshttp://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c…
    2. Run the vundo and combo fix http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c…
    3. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malwarehttp://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c…
    4. Run the anti spyware remove programs spybot http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c… and superantispyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c… to get rid of the nasties
    5. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt! http://www.freedrweb.com/

The answer to your question is YES. A system restore does not get rid of any viruses. Your mother needed to use her antivirus software to scan and remove all of the viruses. Plus I always recommend that you reboot after some nasty viruses or spyware have been removed and scan the second time to make sure there are not traces of the viruses in your system.
Say you have a friend and they send you a file, and their PC is infected, you will also be infected.
For this reason when a file is sent to me via email or say MSN Messenger, I save the file, and scan with my own antivirus, plus antispyware prior to opening the file.
Usually depending on what email service that the receiver of the email uses, their own email services usually provides antivirus scanning for attachments only prior to opening.

The best way to get rid of trojans is using a best anti-spyware to protect your computer.Anti-Virus is not good at removing trojans.
You must have 1 or 2 antispyware on your computer to protect your computer.
