How Do I Get Rid Of Trojan Zlob?
Posted on 7th November 2009
I tried to download a movie but there was a virus with it. Whenever I try to do something on the internet a pop-up will come up saying that I have a virus called Trojan Zlob-x.a. I have tried many things to get rid but all i get is free scans and I have to buy something to get rid of it. I have AVG but it isn’t picking up the virus or something.

This is what I do to get rid of those nasty things.
Print it and try if you like,
*Download, install and the get the updates for the following, but DO NOT RUN A SCAN YET:
Adwarehttp://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-1073…
SuperAntispywarehttp://www.superantispyware.com/download…
*Then, DISCONNECT from the internet. (UNPLUG IT)
*Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Internet Options and delete all browsing history (cookies, temporary internet files etc). Check the box, Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons.
*Make sure your folder settings allow you to see the ALL your folders, Go to My Computer>Folder Options>View. CHeck all the show files boxes and UNCHECK all the Hide boxes. Click apply and ok.
*Go to C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMELocal Settings temp
Delete all files. (for each user)
*Delete all in recycle bin
*Next, boot up in safe mode (Tap the F8 key every few seconds as the system boots up until the screen Saying Safe Mode option appears).
*Now run the above spyware programs.
I would also download and install Firefox, its less vulnerable than IE.http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
(Then configure it for pop-ups and other things, like Clearing everything when you exit. tools>options>privacy tab to clear everything)

The Smitfraudfix run in safe mode, followed by Superantispyware (also run in safe mode) will remove the trojan and anything it brought in with it.

B M gave you good advice, but left out one step. Flush all the files from your Windowsprefetch folder. Just the files, NOT the folder. Rarely, but it can happen, a virus can infect the prefetch files and reload it after you visit the offending site again.

Trojan.Zlob is a back door Trojan that allows the remote attacker to perform various malicious actions on the compromised computer.
If your computer is infected by Trojan.Zlob program, you will receive warnings in your task bar stating that you are infected with spyware and to run its special anti-spyware tool. This tool turns out to be the commercial version of AntiVirGear. These warnings are fake and are a goad to have you buy the commercial version of this software.
I got all the information about this spyware from the below link and there you can also remove it by using the manual and automatic process..http://www.pcontech.com/spyware/remove/t…

Watch out for those video codecs used to view video files! They are bundled with Trojans. Do not download anything Trojan Zlob-x.a tells you to. Zlob-x.a downloads IE Defender, which is not a reliable program.
AVG probably does not have the files on Zlob-x.a up in their definitions. Use another free anti-spyware program to check for Zlob-x.a
